Incentivizing Node Operators


To combat this problem, we need to incentivize stakers to operate their own nodes (either by solo staking or by becoming a node operator RocketPool). Either action contributes to keeping Ethereum decentralized, which is absolutely critical to the long-term success of Ethereum.

This is what inspired the ‘NFT for Node Operators’ project.

Intro

Xofee created the ‘Network Watcher’ eye to symbolize that the staker watches over the network, guarding the Ethereum network from the forces of centralization.

This art was selected by the EthStaker community from a number of amazing submissions.

Layers

Each unique art consists of nine distinct layers, offering over 68 billion combinations.

Evolution

The NFT evolves each year by gaining an additional network node. This progression is symbolized by a diagram imbedded in the iris, representing the Metcalle's law. 

For the first year of staking, you start with 3 network nodes. Each subsequent year, you can upgrade your NFT to gain an additional node. So someone staking for 4 years will have 7 nodes.

Rarity

The nodes are interconnected (depicted by solid lines), with varying numbers of connections. Fully interconnected nodes, where every node is linked to every other node, are the rarest. In a perfect configuration, all nodes are fully connected to one another.
