Overview

Guardians of the Ether are non-transferable NFTs for EthStakers who are keeping Ethereum decentralized by operating their own node.

These NFTs can be used to signify membership in the EthStaker community, provide access to special events, and celebrate one's role in safeguarding the Ethereum network.

They can also be used as a basis for governance, allowing EthStakers to express their views on various topics, whether specific to EthStakers or applicable to the broader Ethereum community.

The Art

EthStakers play a critical role of watching over the Ethereum network, represented by a unique eye iris. 

The NFT evolves over time as you stake for longer. Higher levels are denoted by more network nodes. 

These nodes may be interconnected to varying degrees, depending on the rarity of the mint.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must either be a solo staker or a RocketPool node operator, on either (or both) of the snapshot dates:

  • September 15, 2022 (day of the merge)
  • September 15, 2023

Awesome Features

Eligibility

Although only one NFT will be issued per operator at any one time, multiple NFTs will be issued over time.

Node operators will receive one NFT pre-merge, and another post-merge, and then another every 12 months.

Each type can be combined w/ subsequent types, so node operators can progress over time.

This gives a sense of 'character progression' as people stake longer, and grants bragging rights to those who have been staking the longest.

Ultimately, it not only incentivizes operating a node, but to continue operating it over time.
